Tuyen Chung, FNP

Tuyen Chung — Winnie to patients and colleagues — is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who joined North American Spine and Pain in 2023, caring for patients at the Langhorne and Willow Grove offices.

The decade of hospital nursing behind that is mostly oncology and acute care, which is closer to pain management than it first sounds. For four years Winnie was a certified registered nurse practitioner at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, coordinating systemic therapy plans with the treating physicians, ordering and interpreting the labs and diagnostics those plans depend on, and sitting with patients and families to explain what treatment would actually involve. Part of that role was survivorship care — building the follow-up plan for people who had finished chemotherapy, and being straight with them about surveillance and prevention.

Before that came six years as a registered nurse in Einstein Philadelphia's progressive care unit: managing transitions of care alongside physical therapists, respiratory therapists and case management, precepting new nurses, and taking charge-nurse shifts. That is where the habit of coordinating a plan across a lot of people — without losing the patient in the middle of it — comes from.

Winnie earned both a Master of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at LaSalle University, is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and holds ACLS and BLS certification. Appointments can be run in Vietnamese when that is easier for a patient or family. Outside the office: crocheting.
